Judges’ comments – ‘Using cutting-edge solutions, HYLO overcame highly complex challenges with smart engineering and was delivered on time and to budget, with high levels of social value and far-reaching sustainability benefits, including #breeam Excellent’.
This innovative design retained a significant amount of the original building’s sub and superstructure as a sustainable solution to lower concrete use and carbon emissions, which will act as a blueprint for future projects.
HYLO is an exemplar mixed-use development in London’s vibrant and commercially significant Old Street area, delivering 25,800m² of office/retail space and 25 social homes across 29 floors.
